Course Content
Cambridge Technicals in Science is a new course combining the three science disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students will have opportunities to demonstrate and develop the practical application of knowledge and understanding in a range of areas of work making them highly employable in the Applied Science field. For example: · Students will gain an understanding of atoms and electronic structure, cell structure and electricity. · Students will learn about the skills scientists use and the roles they perform in an international scientific community. They will examine different types of scientific data and learn how scientists use them to draw conclusions that can contribute to scientific advancement. · Students will learn about the role of a research scientist in industry by learning how to conduct their own scientific investigation. They will develop the skills to research, plan and risk assess investigations before safely undertaking the practical tasks. |
Style Of Assessment
Students are assessed through a portfolio of coursework (40%) and external examination (60%). Module 1: Fundamentals of Science Module 2: Science in Society Module 3: Investigating Science Module 4: Medical Physics Module 5: TBC
